Foods and Cold Chain
Project Overview
The JD Logistics (Guannan) Intelligent Logistics Park project exemplifies a modern e-commerce logistics industrial demonstration initiative centred on the model of "digital e-commerce + smart logistics + industrial development + supply chain finance + talent cultivation".CNANC Intelligent constructed three high-standard automated warehouses, one of which is a smart cold chain facility. Leveraging its technical expertise and project experience in intelligent warehousing and physical systems, CNANC Intelligent upgraded the intelligent storage and logistics infrastructure within the Guannan County E-commerce Logistics Industrial Park through warehouse planning, hardware-software integration, and operational support. This has helped establish a demonstrably high-tech smart warehouse.
Highlights Showcase
-
Refrigerated storage room temperature: Adjustable between 0–10°C;
-
Freezer room temperature: Adjustable between -18°C and -25°C;
-
2,764 pallet positions + 388 pallets
Challenges
-
Complex operational environmentLow temperatures, high energy consumption, high humidity, frost formation, condensation, and cleanliness requirements impose stricter demands on equipment performance and overall construction standards.
-
High labour costs and occupational hazardsThe adverse low-temperature working environment leads to recruitment difficulties and high staffing costs; prolonged exposure to sub-zero conditions poses significant health risks to personnel.
-
High customisation requirementsThe specific nature of goods such as meat, fruit, vegetables, processed foods, and pharmaceuticals precludes standardised warehouse solutions, necessitating near-total bespoke design.
Solutions
The No.1 cold storage warehouse covers approximately 9,786.3 square meters. During construction, special attention was given to the installation and design of insulation systems for the first and second floors, cold storage doors, floor insulation, and refrigeration equipment. The project employs multiple original imported refrigeration units to ensure precise temperature control and optimal cooling performance. Based on Siemens PLC refrigeration system solutions, the design maximizes resource allocation according to actual conditions and specific requirements, optimizing system control for precise operation. This approach achieves maximum energy efficiency, optimal cost-performance ratio, and minimized operational costs.
For in-warehouse operations, CNANC Intelligence has developed a customized automated storage system integrating three-dimensional shelving, four-direction shuttle vehicles, and overhead cranes. The system employs reciprocating cranes to transport goods between multi-level platforms, while palletized shuttle vehicles enable agile storage and retrieval. Integrated with intelligent Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Warehouse Control System (WCS), the system ensures stable operation of all equipment in low-temperature and high-humidity environments, facilitating efficient handling of frozen products.
