The client company has been deeply involved in the auto parts industry for many years, and the newly added workshop mainly supplies key components such as bumpers, interior panel assemblies, and auxiliary instrument assemblies to car companies such as Changan and NIO. It needs to store raw materials and finished car bumpers synchronously on a daily basis. Previously, traditional stacking storage was used, and the variety of materials involved made it time-consuming and labor-intensive to find and pick goods. The warehousing team of more than 10 people still struggled to meet the demand for efficient turnover. Therefore, customers urgently need an intelligent warehousing system that can "save space, improve efficiency, and reduce labor costs", connect the data flow between production and warehousing, and keep up with the pace of industry intelligent upgrading.




Key and difficult points of the project: precise breakthroughs under multiple challenges

1. Multi specification compatibility challenge: The material warehouse needs to be compatible with up to 10 different specifications and sizes of material trucks, ranging in volume from 2.1m ³ to 23.9m ³, with significant differences. Therefore, a large amount of data collection and analysis work must be carried out before the planning and design stage to ensure that the size design of the shelf storage space and the parameters such as the load capacity and gripping accuracy of the stacker crane can accurately match the needs of different specifications of material trucks.


2. Collaboration and Scalability of Two Warehouses: The pallet warehouse and material warehouse need to achieve collaborative operation, efficient material flow, and reserve 30% expansion space to cope with the possible increase in material types and storage needs in the future.


3. System integration and on-site limitations: WMS control module needs to be integrated and integrated with the customer's existing MES system to achieve real-time synchronization of inventory data and intelligent scheduling of job tasks; And the on-site space is limited, and the linkage debugging of multiple devices (stacker cranes, AGVs, conveyors) is complex, requiring seamless connection between each link.


Solution: Customized intelligent warehousing system

The project workshop warehouse area covers an area of about 3000 square meters, with a floor height of about 13 meters. The intelligent engineering team of Zhongjian conducted on-site surveys and created an integrated solution of "stacker crane elevated three-dimensional warehouse+AGV transportation" based on multiple factors such as warehouse space layout, ground load-bearing capacity, overall efficiency, and operating costs


Hardware configuration: Fully utilize the upward space and build a 12 meter high elevated three-dimensional warehouse, including more than 1700 storage spaces (1280 storage spaces in the material warehouse and 576 storage spaces in the pallet warehouse) to meet current production capacity and reserve expansion space; Configure 4 aisle stacker cranes and 4 AGVs (2 toothed and 2 hidden) to achieve automatic transfer of goods to people.


System integration: Customize and develop WMS/WCS core algorithms to adapt to the high-frequency and small batch inventory characteristics of the automotive parts industry, seamlessly integrate with MES systems, and achieve real-time synchronization of inventory data and intelligent scheduling of job tasks.


Early stage guarantee: The project team conducted on-site precise measurements of 10 types of material truck dimensions and load-bearing parameters, simulated the operation trajectory of the stacker crane and the shelf access process through 3D modeling, optimized the layout of storage locations and equipment selection, and ensured efficient adaptation throughout the entire process.

1. Significant reduction in labor costs: After the project was implemented, the number of warehouse workers was reduced from over 10 to 2-3, resulting in a direct decrease of over 70% in labor costs.


2. Significant improvement in turnover efficiency: The efficiency of inbound and outbound inventory has increased by 3-4 times, and the inventory accuracy rate has reached 99.9%, completely eliminating production line downtime caused by material mismatch.
